Annie Turner. This session is likely to be messy. Annie wants us to work on large sheets of paper which she will provide at reasonable cost. We are to produce several paintings, so bring cheap acrylic in large sizes. You need various brushes including decorator’s brushes, kitchen roll etc. You need to be able to thoroughly protect a large table.
Frances Winder. Frances works mainly in watercolour, acrylics, gouache, and mixed media. More details to follow.
Catherine MacDiarmid. You will need several large sheets of cartridge paper, pencils, willow charcoal, putty rubber, and wet wipes. If you want to use colour, bring coloured paper and hard pastels or Conte crayons. We will be drawing a naked model.

Today we had a return visit from Graham Twyford when the focus was on drawing buildings using the pen and wash technique. Graham shared how he had created the drawing of Bridge House at Ambleside and then printed copies on plastic which when applied to damp watercolour paper printed an outline for us all to develop the detail before applying a wash. Graham demonstrated the stages of the technique and offered individual advice and guidance. Here is Graham's finished painting followed by some of the work members produced.

The Art Group took part in the Arnside Well Being Day in the EI organised by staff, volunteers and Helen Chaffey. We had a display of some of our artwork and members welcomed visitors and friends. The display kept changing but I wasn't in all day and am sure missed some of the changes. My apologies to members who displayed paintings and I missed them.
