Arnside Art Group Calendar 2022.
Towards the end of 2019, as part of our strategy to ensure the survival of our wonderful art group, we decided to hold a monthly painting challenge; the winners (voted for by the group), were used to create a fabulous calendar. We also decided to include a competition for the young artists in Arnside. The winners’ of which have also been awarded months in the calendar. Every penny spent on the calendars will go towards local art projects, one of which will be a donation towards art materials for our local primary school.
Many thanks to these local businesses for their support and sponsorship.

It is with sadness that we have to report the death of Elizabeth Rodway who died peacefully on 29th September 2021. She went to live in The Knells House, near Carlisle several years ago when she was no longer able to live on her own, to be closer to her daughter.
Elizabeth was accepted as a member of Arnside Art Group on 21st March 1990 and was an active member with a style of her own which many people will remember.
Below are 3 of Elizabeth's paintings.

It is with sadness that we announce the death of Sheila Haslam.
She joined the art group in January 1992. Brenda Banbridge told me she was one of the nicest people she has ever known. Sheila painted one of Brenda's all time favourite pictures and of a very unlikely subject; a sack of potatoes in the corner of a dark shed .JUST BRILLIANT!
Sheila became an hon member of our group when she moved to to Windermere in 2009. Glenis described her as a lovely and gracious friend.
